Management Expertise

I am experienced at junior management level with high levels of both academic and work-based managerial experience including financial, human resource, client and project management. I gained my first taste of management at only 18 when I became night manager of a local convenience store. I have since studied Management at University, carried out project management for an events company and currently manage a large portfolio of Blue Chip clients as a Search Engine Analyst.

Managerial Academic achievements

As part of my Master of Physics degree, I spent one quarter of my degree studying Management studies as part of a management minor. This course provided me with a basic insight into both personal and analytical management including the following subjects:

Each course involved assessed presentations and seminars, where each participant was marked on insightful question asking skills and the ability to put forward or explain your case. During the Entrepreneurship course, we were placed into teams of six and given the task of inventing a product or service. Each member of the team was assigned one of the following roles - Project Manager, Finance Director, Marketing Manager, Product Development, . I achieved the role of Project Manager which involved organising and chairing weekly meetings with the team, bi-weekly meetings with the board (course supervisor!) and carrying out the final pitch. At the final pitch, all 10 teams of 6 gathered to vote on the best product or service. I led our team to 4th place - a respectable achievement for a flawed product!

Online Marketing Portfolio Management

From April 2005 until the present day I have held the role as Search Engine Analyst for Spannerworks, Brighton. Spannerworks are one of Europe's leading Search Marking companies with a rapidly growing portfolio of large blue-chip clients. During this time I have managed many such clients including Virgin, Esure (Halifax Bank of Scotland), Standard Life and Experian. This client focused role involves managing client expectations, internal project communication, organisation and prioritisation to ensure successful results for every client. I am responsible for:

I have successfully retained my full portfolio of clients throughout my duration in this role. I communicate on a day-to-day basis with both Marketing Managers and Technical Directors. I am also responsible for managing part of the sales process and allocate technical audits for new business opportunities. I have also attended sales pitches to discuss our product offering and sell the services of our technical team.

Event Management

Between July 2004 and March 2005 I held a project support role for ICT Strategies LTD, based in Crawley. ICT Strategies organised corporate hospitality and training events largely for the civil service. Our main clients included the DTI, Small Business Service, Regional Development agencies especially the London Development Agency and Business Links. An average training workshop involved the following project management skills:

Supermarket Night Manager

During my time as a sales assistant at a medium sized Supermarket, I was given the role as night manager. As part of this role I became key holder for the supermarket between 6pm and 11pm. My responsibilities included:
